Basic Guidelines to Follow When Designing Your Island

  • Tile CANNOT be selected from two different levels
  • Extensions MUST be added to open end (CANNOT be added to an end with an existing bar or countertop overhang) (Figure A)
  • Component placement is based on center lines of existing components (Figure B)
  • Existing components CANNOT be replaced with multiple components
  • Component upgrades must stay within the confines of the original island framework
  • Any component that requires a drain should be accessible through a door
  • Any component that requires a drain CANNOT be installed above drawers or refrigerators
  • Umbrella Hole locations are predetermined and CANNOT be moved
  • Additional External Electrical Outlets CANNOT be installed in a backsplash or bar ledge
  • Extensions with a backsplash or bar ledge will be permanently attached at the factory and CANNOT be shipped separately
  • If choosing granite upgrade, granite will be strategically fabricated in multiple pieces
  • Modified drawings/renderings are unavailable for catalog products
  • Combine products from different categories to create a unique outdoor room (Figure C)

Basic Fireplace Design Tips

Basic Guidelines to Follow When Designing Your Fireplace

  • Fireplaces MUST be 10' from or 3' above any combustibles
  • A chimney can be extended in 1' increments
  • Models built with the 36" Firebox will ship with the chimney seperate (Figure A)
  • Wood Boxes, seat walls, hearths, and water features will ship as separate sections (Figure A)
  • Post lights, stereo, and all other electrical component positions are predetermined and CANNOT be moved
  • Gas stub positions for log lighters and log sets are predetermind and CANNOT be moved (Figure A)

Basic Pergola Design Tips

Basic Guidelines to Follow When Designing Your Pergola

  • Pergola Sizes are based on the canopy size (Figure A)
  • Pergolas can be free standing or attached to a house
  • Wood will be unfinished unless otherwise specified (at a minimum, we suggest adding clear sealer)
  • Columns will be unpainted unless otherwise specified
  • Solid surfaces are required for mounting pergolas (deck, concrete, pavers, etc.)
  • If using a stone base, column will be mounted to the base, and the base will be mounted to the floor (Figure B)

Basic Guidelines to Follow When Designing Your Fire Pit

  • Most Fire Pit tops can be attached or unattached (MUST be noted when ordering)
  • Some models come standard with the top attached (HWO-PTC, HWO-PTS, HWO-PTR, and HWO-60T1) unless otherwise requested
  • Fire Pits should always sit on a solid surface (Deck, concrete, pavers, etc.)
  • Chat height Fire Pits are approximately 28" tall (Figure A)
  • Dining height Fire Pits are approximately 30" tall (Figure B)
  • Bar height Fire Pits are approximately 44" tall (Figure C)
